Is a hub that brings to the fore the best of Africa’s new and established spoken word artists. It’s a platform that showcases talented individuals across the African continent who are making great strides and creating a global footprint through their respective performance work. We are the go-to platform that marries performance (entertainment) and the business know-how (education) in the arts.
-
PUO is a compass for all aspiring writers, storytellers and spoken word artists.
A truly celebratory experience of poetry by hosting performances and interviews with established and aspiring spoken word artists to discuss their poetry - on and off stage- while also being the go-to platform that marries performance (entertainment) and the business know-how (education) in the arts.
-
Digital Open Mic sessions that invites new and established poets to perform new works of poetry and then interviewing the artists to discuss their performance/poem in order to equip other artists with masterclasses on performance, artistry, basic and essential business acumen, industry knowledge and experiences.
-
Includes interviews by poets expounding on their poems. The audience gets immersed in the poet's world from performance to craft, perspective and worldview enabling creatives to better understand the business side and other “behind the scenes' ' happenings of the arts that help shape an artist holistically.
The aim going forward is to marry more education with an element of entertainment in each performance + episode.
