  • The UMINA collection
    is inspired by the quiet, often overlooked moments of self-reflection. The act of standing in a bathroom or pausing at a doorway. The moments you catch yourself in passing. “It is I. ” This extends into “I am him / I am her”, a deeply personal, almost spiritual acknowledgement of self.

  • The influence draws from African traditions where identity and presence is relftced in the collective. UMINA reimagines this as a contemporary ritual object, a mirror.

    The patterns and forms are not just aesthetic choices, the shapes of the mirrors represent the individual, while the patterns are a symbol of community. Reaffirming the philosophy of “I am because we are”

  • The UMINA collection is crafted from laser cut mild steel, which is hand-cleaned before it recives it powder coated finish. Material choices that reflects both durability and precision. The result is a balance of strength and subtlety, with no execss. A material expression of the studio’s philosophy: Nothing Else To Add.
