To keep to the authentic storytelling and focus on the individual stories. With this collection, we want to show the quality and beauty of denim in its most minimal. By laminating the denim between the aluminium sheets we are able to highlight the beauty of denim while also softening the steel by creating a contrast between the two materials – the harshness and shine of steel vs the softness of denim and its rugged texture.

The collaboration forms part of “Meet The Makers” – by Relay Jeans to showcase the craft and denim culture within our community. To keep to the authentic storytelling and focus on the individual stories the collaboration and collection of infused denim into the collection of furniture pieces. 

Four products have been developed – a side table, a bench, a mirror and a shelving system - in order to incorporate the RJ brand and Tshuma’s design philosophy of African inspired design infused with modern technology and craftsmanship.

The reason for this is, it makes for a beautiful collaboration story to have both brands showcase something different and unique, instead of Katlego just wearing Relay Jeans for the campaign.
